Assistant Headteacher and Literacy Leader - Heathmere Primary School

The Role

Full time – Permanent
Required from September 2019

The role of Assistant Headteacher at Heathmere Primary School is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to work with a forward-thinking and highly-motivated staff team. Heathmere was rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in February 2019. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom teacher with an ability to develop this skill in others. The role will be centered around leading literacy and improving the quality of teaching and learning across the school.

We are looking for an AHT who:

  • Can drive our Ofsted target of: Improve teaching, learning and assessment in key stage 2 further by ensuring that writing tasks are matched to pupils’ levels of ability and provide sufficient challenge.
  • Can work alongside individual teachers across the school to improve their classroom practice
  • Has a proven track record in raising standards
  • Has determination, a passion for literacy and strong subject knowledge
  • Has total commitment to inclusion and believes in achievement for all children
  • Will buy into our whole school values of respect, resilience and high expectations.
