Assistant Service Manager

The Role

Fixed term until 31/03/2021 with the possibility of being made permanent in the long term.

The Head of Community Services, Adult Social Services is inviting applications for this fixed term opportunity as an Assistant Service Manager for the Community Adult Health Service (CAHS), within the Wandsworth Locality Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a competent and ambitious Social Care Manager who is committed to the development of the CAHS service as well as seeking to progress in their professional development. You will manage the CAHS Service in order to provide a timely, joined up approach to health and social care, enabling holistic care delivery for patients and carers who would benefit most from this integrated model of care.

You will report directly to the Locality Service Manager for The Wandsworth Locality SW East Team and will be an active participant of the Operational Management Team. However, you will also need to develop close working relationships with other health professionals from the Clinical Commissioning Group, including GP’s etc.

The successful candidate will be a registered social care professional, who: -

  • Has good team management skills,
  • Has good report writing skills, IT skills and is able to manage various work streams, within specific time scales.
  • Is able to ensure the team undertakes its statutory functions under the Care Act 2014 and in accordance with the Inter-Agency Policy and Procedures for Safeguarding Adults
  • Is able to support and supervise staff effectively, by providing professional supervision in order to support service developments.

They should also have a commitment towards strength-based outcomes and working in a multi-disciplinary way with other health professionals.

The CAHS team takes a multi-agency approach, working alongside health colleagues. The work within the team is varied, which includes complex care management, with a strong focus on wellbeing, keeping people in the community, managing safeguarding enquiries and providing direct payments to increase individuals’ control over their own care.
