Wandsworth Borough Council are looking for an Assistant Service Manager within the St George’s Hospital Social Work Team. We are looking for someone who will share our values and vision for health and social care across Wandsworth and help ensure that residents receive the care they need, in the right setting.

St Georges Hospital is home to one the busiest A&E Department in Britain, as featured on Channel 4’s, ‘24 Hours in A&E’. Our social work team is at the heart of this demanding and diverse hospital. We have a pivotal role in supporting Wandsworth patients, their families and our health partners.

What we are looking for:

  • An innovative and dynamic social work manager
  • Strong leadership style and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to drive social care performance
  • Experience of managing people, allocating work and managing performance
  • Ability to build good relationships with our health partners across the acute trust and other organisations
  • Has a commitment to ensuring that front line staff deliver a high quality, personalised and strengths-based service, in line with the departments vision for change and statutory duties under The Care Act 2014.

The Assistant Service Manager will take a leading role in maintaining and seeking to improve Wandsworth’s DTOC position for social care delays for which we are currently positioned number 8 across London.

The successful candidate will be a registered social worker with Social Work England.
