The Role

Are you looking for a challenging opportunity to work in an audit environment that encourages initiative and an innovative approach and where the highest standards are achieved?

We are The South West London Audit Partnership, one of the largest local authority shared audit services, in the UK. You will be working across the partner authorities as part of a modern, forward thinking shared internal audit service.

You will assist in maintaining an effective internal audit in accordance with Council policies and practice within the context of the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards. You will carry out internal audits to a high standard from start to finish, including the completion of a risk assessment, delivery of the fieldwork and production and clearance of a report summarising the findings and recommendations from the work completed.

Preference is given to Part Qualified members of a CCAB body or equivalent (eg IIA, ACCA, CIPFA) or equivalent professional qualification.

You must have experience in internal audit or have transferrable skills including organising and delivering an individual workplan within set timescales. You will be expected to deliver a high quality and responsive service wherever you are based, as well as have the ability to adapt to sometimes differing processes and expectations.

We recognise the importance of a good balance between work and home life so we do everything we can to accommodate flexible working including, working from home, compressed or part-time hours, term time only, job shares and other arrangements. Please just let us know in your application or at any stage throughout the process (and beyond) if these are options you’d like to explore.  We also offer a generous holiday allowance of 39 paid days (pro rata) including bank holidays and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.

In addition, we offer a comprehensive range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts with many leisure activities, restaurants, shops and other establishments.
