We have a Social Worker/Senior Social Worker position available within the Children in Need (CIN) Peripatetic Team. The team provides an enhanced programme of support, assessment and intervention to children and young people affected by domestic abuse. Our  team offers a Whole Family Approach aimed at improving the safety and wellbeing of Domestic Violence and Abuse affected children/young people.

We look for people with a 'can do' attitude, who are prepared to be accountable for achieving the best possible outcomes. You will focus on residents and service users to ensure they receive the highest standards of provision. The core of this role is the delivery of positive safety and wellbeing outcomes for children and families who are affected by domestic violence. These outcomes are delivered:

  • By direct social work practice with high complexity / high risk families where domestic violence is a significant factor.
  • By building and developing relationships with services and practitioners in other agencies that specialise in domestic violence work in order to provide co-ordinated and effective partnership working in the borough.

The application of theory and theoretical frameworks to all aspects of practice – keeping up to date knowledge regarding Domestic Abuse and practise

You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality and responsive social work service. We'll expect you to act as the lead professional in statutory cases - including child protection, care proceedings, and looked-after children - while undertaking the full range of social work tasks with children in need and their families.

It's a role that will see you work collaboratively with allied health and social care practitioners, bringing together and coordinating the team around the child to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to safeguarding, as well as Assessment, Planning, Implementation and Review (APIR).

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your CV and personal statement will clearly evidence:

  • Social work qualification and HCPC registered
  • Experience of working across voluntary and statutory agencies
  • A good communicator
  • Confident in APIR and understand the needs of children and young people
  • Have applied knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance
