The Role

Deputy Insurance Manager

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced insurance professional to join the busy and friendly Insurance Team providing a customer-focused service across Richmond and Wandsworth Councils.

Reporting to the Insurance Manager and having line management for two Principal Insurance Officers, you will be responsible for overseeing the insurance programme ensuring expeditious and effective claims handling by our contracted insurance providers whilst also supporting the Insurance Manager with work across Richmond and Wandsworth Councils as required.

You will need excellent team work, organisational and time management skills as these are key to meeting the expectations of service departments. With a strong insurance background, preferably within a similar organisation, a sound understanding of insurance regulation, case law and principles and how these are applied within a local government setting is essential.
