HR Support Apprentice

The Role

Do you want to join a friendly and supportive HR team with opportunities to work across various functions? This apprenticeship will provide great practical experience in a unique HR setting providing support across Richmond and Wandsworth Councils.

You will primarily provide administrative support to a range of HR areas including job evaluation, employee benefits, equality and diversity, organisational development and management information.

As well as practical experience, you will also work to achieve the HR Support Level 3 Apprenticeship with the ongoing support of your line manager.

Working within a large HR team will provide exposure to many areas, including management information, equality and diversity, transactions/payroll, HR systems, recruitment, casework and organisational development. The experience gained will be invaluable to progressing within your chosen career path.

You will need to:

  • Have experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Have good written and verbal communication
  • Have good attention to detail and ability to work unsupervised to meet deadlines
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality
  • Be willing to work flexibly and provide support across the HR team

You will have day-to-day support from your line manager and will also have opportunities to shadow/get training from colleagues across the various teams in HR to gain experience and knowledge of the different areas. There are also a number of e-learning and face-to-face training courses offered in the councils which you can request to attend, including Office 365 and customer services.

Indicative Recruitment Timeline

We are looking for an apprentice ready to start in July (subject to the completion of recruitment checks).
