Head of Finance and Support

The Role

As part of the Environmental and Community Services senior management team, you will enable us to continue to build on our success and also bring new experience, knowledge and ideas.

You will need to bring both your experience and fresh perspectives to solve practical problems to drive forward service improvement.  

You will deliver corporate budget planning and forecasting, financial management and statutory accounts. You will also be responsible for managing the departmental business support team delivering transactional services, accounts payable and receivable. You will lead, motivate and support colleagues to achieve key service objectives, outcomes and deadlines.

You will ensure strong financial stewardship, understanding the impact of statutory and regulatory frameworks and ensuring that these are reflected in the way the council operates. You will review financial processes and seek to identify, develop, plan and implement change strategies within the service.

You will be CCAB Qualified, part-Qualified CCAB with relevant experience or AAT qualified with significant relevant experience and outstanding technical skills to allow you to take lead responsibility in a principal, corporate accountant role.
