Housing Employment Officer

The Role

Work Match, Richmond and Wandsworth council’s jobs and skills brokerage is recruiting for three Housing Employment Officers to support an exciting new project Connecting Communities helping Wandsworth residents living in the borough’s social housing to access the 1000’s of job opportunities in the borough.

The Role

The primary purpose of this position is delivering the Connecting Communities Programme provide an employment service delivering sustainable employment outcomes for a diverse range of residents, with a particular focus on our residents living in the borough’s social housing.  Providing a comprehensive, effective, integrated, systemically informed employability service as part of the Connecting Communities programme. Working closely with colleagues in the Housing Department, to engage with residents in our social housing to provide employment support to access vacancies offered by the council’s Work Match service. 

Our objective is to ensure that residents registered with the Wandsworth Work Match brokerage service (and associated services) can access employment or training appropriate to their needs.

About you

You will be an ambitious self-starter, ready to take on the challenge of joining a successful job brokerage service for talented local people.

The ideal candidate will be able to deliver high quality advice and guidance, CV preparation, job readiness preparation and be able to successfully match local people to jobs created in the associated boroughs that Work Match operates. The post holder will also work closely with key stakeholders to identify suitable training provision for residents whilst managing a diverse caseload of local businesses and residents. We will offer training and development to ensure you have employment skills required to be a successful Housing Employment Officer. We will also consider internal employees on a secondment basis.
