The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Information and Transparency Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring both Richmond and Wandsworth Councils meets their statutory requirements for Freedom of Information (FOI), Environmental Information Regulations (EIR), Data Protection and Subject Access Requests (SAR) as well as leading the openness, transparency and accountability agenda across the organisation.

You will need a good knowledge of the recent data protection legislation changes, the General Data Protection Regulations, client confidentiality and their application in the public sector. In this role, you will be kept busy with an interesting range of work from ensuring effective policies and procedures are in place linked to the above statutory requirements, having strategic oversight, performance reporting and managing the busy casework of the team, responsibility for more complex and non-standard FOI/DPA cases, providing training, advice and guidance to senior officers and elected members and supporting the organisation as it continues to strengthen its approach and commitment to robust information governance.

We are positive and ambitious – When you join us, you’ll apply the same approach.

There has never been a more challenging – or rewarding – time to work for Richmond and Wandsworth.

In return, we can offer you working arrangements that will enhance your work-life balance.  These include 36 hour working week with flexible working hours or ‘flexitime’ (subject to service needs) and a generous holiday allowance of 31 days plus bank holidays.
