Senior Electrical Engineer

Wandsworth is a busy urban borough in the heart of London.

 

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer who will work as part of one of the small professional teams. The post holder is primarily responsible for the provision of safe and reliable electrical services to borough's residents. Duties include liaison with & monitoring of contractors to ensure their prompt attendance to breakdowns, effective repair works completed according to an agreed programme, maintenance visits and statutory inspections are conducted as specified. Confidence in using computer systems including MS Office software are essential, as is the ability to deal sensitively with residents and their representatives with the highest standard of customer care.

 

Reporting to the Electrical Manager you will help manage a team of electrical engineers installing, maintaining and repairing electrical services to the Council’s housing stock. This includes fire alarms, automatic opening ventilation, CCTV, emergency lighting, lightning protection systems, integrated reception systems, door entry systems, TV communal system (IRS, Integrated Reception System), stand alone aerial systems and Community Fibre.

 

With experience of project control and contract management you will be able to brief consultants, supervise contractors, carry out surveys and assist in the resolution of design problems.

 

You will have an HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Building Services or alternatively possess the following qualification in Electrical testing procedures in accordance with the 18th Edition of IET Wiring Regulations; C&G 2330, 2357, 2365 level 3 AM2 & NVQ 2356 level 3 standard or equivalent in electrical or electronic engineering or have C&G 2391, 2394 & 2395 in inspecting and testing and certification of electrical installations or relevant experience gained within the industry and substantial knowledge of electrical services within housing properties and estates.

 

Candidates must have access to their own car and be prepared to use it for business use as part of this role.
