Teaching Assistant - Beatrix Potter Primary School

The Role

25 hours per week
Term Time Only (38 weeks)
Required immediately

Are you proactive, good at taking the initiative, well organised, kind and creative with a keen interest in developing children’s thinking and learning skills?

We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant who will initially work in our Key Stage 1 to support a child with speech and language difficulties and support the class teacher in the performance of general duties.  The candidate will be working with the SEND team and deliver speech and language sessions on a 1:1 and small group basis. Training will be led by the schools' SALT. 

You will be enthusiastic in your approach and will seek to provide the opportunities for the child to achieve their full potential, both academically and socially.  

You will have a calm, patient disposition and will be able to respond positively to the challenges of working with children. You will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to helping children achieve their potential in a fun and creative environment.

Ideally you will have experience of working with children or young people in a similar environment. These would be an ideal position for someone considering going into teaching as a career.
