Temporary Teaching Assistants (With BSL) - OAK LODGE SCHOOL

The Role

36 hours per week
full time (pro-rata for hours / weeks worked)
Fixed Term and Event linked contracts available
Term Time Only (39 weeks)

Oak Lodge School is a Good (OfSTED 2016) secondary school for students with hearing, speech and language and communication needs with a residential provision. Oak Lodge follows a student-centred multi-modal approach to communication. We would like to welcome you to become part of our vibrant and innovative learning community, to have the opportunity to work in our happy and harmonious school which promotes the highest standards and is at the forefront of special education. We are an inclusive school where every student and member of staff is valued highly.

We are looking for a full-time / part-time TA who is willing to commit to the whole school ethos and contribute to the whole school community.  This includes school trips and after school clubs.

There is an opportunity to work within the residential unit if desired.

Applicants must have excellent sign language skills (minimum qualification BSL Level 2) and experience of working with deaf and/or language impaired children.

Applications particularly welcome from applicants with experience of working with students with ASD, multi-sensory impairment, behaviour support needs.
