Transport Strategy Programme Co-ordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Spatial and Transport Planning service for a Programme Coordinator.  Working in the Transport Strategy Team, you will monitor the team’s performance against its sustainability objectives and financial resources. About the role:
The Transport Strategy team has responsibility for progressing a programme of high profile work to deliver key Corporate Objectives, including the Wandsworth Environment and Sustainability Strategy and Richmond Climate Emergency Strategy.  With a challenging delivery pipeline of projects and the growing requirement for monitoring of projects and timely performance reporting, the Transport Strategy Programme Co-ordinator will lead co-ordination of the work programme, whilst also assisting with delivery of sustainable travel initiatives.  The Transport Strategy Programme Co-ordinator will ensure systems and processes are in place to maintain accurate and up to date records to facilitate timely project progress updates and associated budgetary information, ensuring the Team work programme and performance information is regularly reviewed and aligned with Corporate Objectives.

The role is based within the Shared Staffing Arrangement and will involve working on a range of projects across Wandsworth and Richmond Councils.

The borough features landmarks such as the iconic Battersea Power Station, Ram Brewery, and Clapham Junction Station, and is acknowledged for its famous green spaces such as Wandsworth and Clapham Commons, Putney Heath, and the Grade II* listed Battersea Park.

You will:

  • Monitor the Transport Strategy Team’s progress in delivering its workload
  • Maintain programme and financial information
  • Monitor transport related climate change targets and objectives
  • Ensure decision making within tight time frames and that the Spatial and Transport Planning service is recognised as delivering an excellent service for all of our customers.
