Adults Mental Health Team Manager

About Us

Team Manager (Wandsworth Mental Health Social Care Team) 

Are you looking to take your leadership and management skills to the next level? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for a Team Manager who can provide strategic leadership and management as part of the Mental Health Service for Richmond and Wandsworth. The Service covers the breadth of statutory functions of mental health social care services including: assessment; care and support planning; review and reassessment; safeguarding; hospital discharge planning; duty; and the AMHP function. The Service works collaboratively with a variety of key partners, including statutory mental health services, primary care, integrated care boards, and a wide variety of charitable and community organisations.

This role manages the Wandsworth Mental Health Social Care Team, a busy, dynamic social care team made up of Assistant Team Managers, Seniors Social Workers, Social Workers and Social Care Assessors. The Team Manager will be working alongside the Service Manager, ensuring that all agreed service plans and statutory responsibilities are met and quality services delivered.  The role has responsibility for ensuring that the service promotes a strengths-based and enabling approach built on the Recovery Model, that services are outcome-focused, that risks are managed as far as possible and that the effective use of resources is maximised. The right candidate will have high levels of professionalism, drive and tenacity and the ability to work in close partnership with key associates such as the Mental Health Trust, Housing, local providers and the voluntary sector. 

About the role

To be successful in this role you will need to have:  

  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g. Social Work or Occupational Therapy) and current registration. 
  • Substantial experience in a statutory social care or health setting. 
  • Substantial experience of leading, managing and motivating staff.
