We have an exciting opportunity for two part-qualified or qualified accountants to join our Children’s Services Finance team supporting Children’s Social Care and Early Help and providing the right candidate with the opportunity to diversify their local government experience.

About the role

As Assistant Finance Business Partner, you will report to the Finance Business Partner for Social Care & Early Help – deputising for them when necessary. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your people management skills, as you will be liaising with multiple stakeholders. This is an exciting time to join a highly motivated team, which is committed to achieving the visions set for Wandsworth Council. 

For this role, you will need to ideally have a background in Children’s Social Care and/or Early Help and an ability to communicate complex financial information to people without a finance background. You will also need to have demonstrable experience of closing accounts and using the financial information you have produced to influence decision making.

You will have a proactive approach and willingness to build effective relationships with customers, other departmental teams and key stakeholders across the organisation.  The environment is fast paced, with tight deadlines therefore you will need to be a good communicator, well organised, have excellent written, numerical and analytical skills and sound IT abilities.
