Assistant Service Manager - Locality Team
The Role
Richmond and Wandsworth Adult Social Care & Public Health Department has strong social work values and a focus on improving outcomes to vulnerable adults and their carers.
We are looking to recruit on a fixed term/secondment basis for two years, an experienced, qualified, SWE registered Assistant Locality Manager in the Teddington and Twickenham Locality Team. We are based across two sites, Whitton and Teddington. Both sites have excellent road and public transport routes; in both locations we are co-located with our Community Nursing Colleagues and pride ourselves on the excellent professional relationships that exist as a consequence of this.

The role of Assistant Service Manager- Locality primarily supports the Locality Manager in managing and leading a team to provide a high quality, effective and efficient social care services to adults and their carers in Richmond.
Key aspects of the role include:
Ensuring the team carries out its statutory functions under the Care Act 2014; including safeguarding adults at risk, prevention, information and advice, timely assessment, eligibility decision-making, care and support planning and review. To also ensure provision of specialist assessments where needed, such as Occupational Therapy, Sensory, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty and Human Rights Act.
To provide regular, formal professional supervision for practitioners within the team being mindful of both Council’s Policies and Procedures, legislation and Professional Standards.
To provide leadership and direction for the team on a daily basis, ensuring a positive team culture and the provision of high quality, person-centred interventions and services, based on the chosen outcomes and aspirations of the adult or carer concerned.
