Assistant Team Manager (Falcon Grove Family Assessment Centre)

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join one of Wandsworth’s Family Assessment Centres

Falcon Grove Family Assessment Centre (judged Good by Ofsted) undertakes residential and community-based parenting assessments and interventions, with families approaching or subject to court proceedings. The centre works with children in need in Wandsworth providing assessments for RAS; CLA and CIN services. Our assessments are also purchased by other local authorities.

The Assistant Team Manager (ATM) position is a management position, taking on the deputising for the Team Manager. There are currently 3 ATM’s in the team.

As a qualified Social Worker, with significant experience in child and family assessments in court proceedings you will be responsible for case supervision and the packages of intervention, assessment and support provided by the team. You will have sound analysing skills, knowledge and experience of using different models of assessment, and the ability to produce and oversee the writing of high-quality reports within tight deadlines. Whilst conducting and overseeing specialist assessments, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of a high-quality service to families using the centre.

You must have the experience and confidence to supervise and monitor the work of less experienced staff, chair meetings, lead networks and liaise with other professionals in related services. Alongside two other ATM’s you will deputise for the Centre/Team

In return, we can offer you working arrangements that will enhance your work-life balance.  These include compressed hours, home working (dependent on service need), part-time working, annualised hours and a generous holiday allowance of 31 days plus bank holidays (taken in lieu if you are rota’d to work on a bank holiday).

In addition, we offer a range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at many leisure activities, restaurants, shops, and other establishments. A wide range of developmental opportunities are also offered.

Richmond and Wandsworth are currently reviewing our pay, reward and benefits framework, in partnership with Trade Union colleagues. We are developing different options that make sure we have a fair and transparent system in place.

For an informal discussion about these vacancies please contact Daniel De Jager, Acting Centre Manager, or Odette Milsome (Assistant Team Manager) on 0207 228 0836.

Closing Date: Sunday 16 June 2019
