Audit Trainee

The Role

We are currently looking to recruit to a Trainee Auditor post in the South West London Audit Partnership (SWLAP). We are looking for a confident communicator, who is curious, can problem solve, take initiative, work as a team, want to learn and take on new tasks.

The South West London Audit Partnership is one of the largest local authority shared audit services, in the UK and provides the internal audit function for five London Councils; Richmond, Wandsworth, Kingston, Sutton, and Merton. You will be working across the partner authorities as part of a modern, forward thinking shared internal audit service. You will assist with providing an independent assurance function, covering assurance on the risk management, governance, and internal control processes.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a strong audit team of 24 staff, with the opportunity to gain experience in risk, control, governance, change management, finance, IT, data analysis, information governance and security, procurement, organisational skills, communication, critical thinking, negotiation, conflict resolution.

You are not expected to have had experience of working in an internal audit team however, an understanding and work experience in areas covering for example process and systems, IT, governance, risk, finance, procurement, with transferrable skills and knowledge to train in Internal Audit is required.

Preference will be given to those already studying for an internal audit or other relevant qualification. 

A trainee auditor role with us, gives you opportunity to:

  • Undertake an IIA training course. Qualifications | IIA
  • Obtain a recognised professional qualification.

Minimum requirement: You must have previous work experience in an area where you have transferable skills.
