Objective of the role
Are you self motivated and customer focused administrator with experience of technical support?
Join our passionate Building Control department working in the Richmond and Wandsworth shared service. You will be joining a large team that provide statutory Building Control functions dealing with applications from small residential alterations and extension to high-risk buildings. You will be a part of a large team of Building Inspectors that undertake site and plan inspections registered to the Building Safety Regulator. The industry has gone through several changes over the last year with the introduction of new Acts and Regulations. You need to be committed in serving the residents and design agents to ensure buildings are safe and compliant.
About the role
A key part of the role is registration, administration and monitoring of all Building Control applications, to produce reports and documents. You will be dealing with large volumes of telephone calls and be providing effective and efficient technical support to the Building Control team and members of the public. You will also be liaising with service areas within the directorate. Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Customer service-You will have experience of working in a similar technical support role in an office environment and the ability to work effectively and efficiently to enable the service to operate and deliver excellent.
Workload Management-You will deal with a varied workload in a busy environment, be willing to learn, be flexible and help with technical support processes. Enjoy a challenge with a problem-solving approach.
IT skills-You will have the relevant IT skills in order to input and maintain the various databases used through the service and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with team members and customers.
Industry knowledge-Have some knowledge of Building Control or similar industry, quality management systems and processes.
Personal development-Willing to undertake professional qualifications in the field as a Building Control Technical Support Officer.
