Our Building Maintenance Service is looking to recruit a Building Maintenance Inspector to join our team and help play a central role in providing excellent services for our customers. Come and join us!

About the team

As member of the Building Maintenance Team, you will provide technical support and advice to colleagues within the Team and your main tasks will be inspecting and specifying works to vacant properties, dealing with non-routine repairs.

About the role

We are interested in receiving applications from people who may not necessarily meet all the JD requirements but who have a keen interest in repairs and a firm commitment to customer care and quality. On the job training will be provided to the successful applicant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical support in relation to routine and non-routine maintenance works.
  • Supporting other departments as directed, including tenant management organisations and housing cooperatives, as necessary.
  • Managing contractors and ensures best value is maintained.
  • Delivering technical expertise in the handling of disrepair claims.
  • Ensuring safe working environment for contractors and members of the public in respect of technical issues.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Ability to use a computer system, with a basic understanding of M.S. Office, Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Understanding the health and safety at work act, fire risk assessments and asbestos regulations.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the Children’s Act and Vulnerable Adults Act.
  • Ability to undertake technical surveys, prepare detailed specifications/ estimates for repairs, raise accurate works orders and monitor to completion.
  • Ability to prepare objective reports and correspondence on buildings and technical repair issues within set timescales.
