The Role

Business Engagement Officer (Construction)

Fixed Term until March 2025:

  • Are you a people person, who has the ability to engage and influence a diverse range of people including employers and residents?
  • Do you want to help local people access apprenticeships, jobs and other construction opportunities on a wide range of developments in the London Borough of Wandsworth?
  • Do you have previous experience working in the construction, recruitment or t welfare to work industries?

If the answer is yes to these questions, then this role is for you.

We are looking for an individual who can think on their feet and react swiftly to ever changing employer and resident needs. Having an empathetic nature with a drive and desire to make a positive impact on peoples’ lives is essential to be successful in this role.

Major investment at Nine Elms Vauxhall and widespread regeneration across Wandsworth provides the council with access to a wide range of new jobs and apprenticeships. Key development sites include Battersea Power Station, One Thames City, Nine Elms Park, York Rd/Winstanley Estate Regeneration and many more.

Work Match is an established brand within the borough and our team is continuing to grow. Work Match engages with local businesses, developers, landowners and their supply chain to provide a free professional recruitment service and create local job opportunities for Wandsworth residents.

Please note that within this role, you will be required to go to Construction Sites, Jobcentre Plus, Job Fairs, among other places as part of your role on a weekly basis. However, there is also scope for some home working when this is not required.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, but we do operate a flexible working policy, so there can be some flexibility within the hours.

We also offer a generous holiday allowance of 39 paid days (pro rata) including bank holidays and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.
