Business Rates & BIDs Admin Officer
The Role
The Business Rates Service is a large public interface within the SSA. Over the combined Boroughs of Richmond and Wandsworth, we bill and collect Business Rates of over £200 million annually from over 14,000 properties. We also manage six Business Improvement District areas with more than 2,000 properties collecting over £1 million in BID revenue.
A vacancy has arisen for a Business Rates and BID Admin Officer. The postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day of administration, billing, collection and recovery of the BIDs for both boroughs. They will also be responsible for the reconciliation of cash and refunds of the Business Rates. The postholder will report directly to the Business Rates Manager.
You should have detailed knowledge of legislation, regulations and procedures relating to BID billing and recovery, you should have high level numeracy and spreadsheet analysis skills. You should possess a high level of interpersonal skills relating to staff and customers.
One of the SSA’s key objectives is to support the development of each officer within their job. You will receive support from the Business Rates Manager and other Senior Officers when you need assistance with aspects of your work.
