Café Teaching Assistant with Additional Responsibilities (TAAR) - Paddock School

About Us

Full time – 32.5 hours per week
Working hours – 08:15 - 15:30, with 45 minutes lunch break
Contract – Temporary (2 years)
Term time only - 39 Weeks
Start date - As soon as possible

Paddock is a popular, outstanding split site school, known for our excellent internal training programme to develop all staff to become experts.  All staff are provided with bespoke training and the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to undertake relevant training relating to teaching pupils with autism / complex needs and working in the popular on-site café. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to spend valuable time in the classroom, fostering a seamless transfer of skills from the educational setting to the café environment.

Paddock School café was established in 2013, and has gone from strength to strength. It provides personalised learning opportunities and work experience for pupils throughout the school and helps develop vocational skills for life.  The café is unique in that members of the local and wider community regularly volunteer and support the pupils to be as independent as they can be.  The Café TAAR will work alongside another Café TAAR and have support from experienced teachers. You will work collaboratively to ensure the café is an integral part of the school curriculum.
