Job Title: Ceremonies Usher 

Salary Range: Scale 3 £13.85-£16.76 per hour Depending on skills, knowledge and experience

Location: Wandsworth and Richmond Registrar Office  

 

Objective of role  

 The Richmond and Wandsworth Registration Service provides a vital role in marking significant life events, including births, deaths, marriages, civil partnerships and citizenship, supporting community wellbeing and inclusion.

To deliver these ceremonies, we need the right people serving our customers.

.About the role 

In this role as a Ceremonies Usher you will play an important part in welcoming the couples and their guests, signposting them to their ceremony room and seating guests during the wedding ceremony. 

You will manage large ceremony crowds and work closely with the registrars and couples to deliver a seamless service. 

You will also welcome couples and assist guests with limited mobility or other special needs to and from their seats ensuring aisles, walkways, and designated seating areas are clear, clean, and safe.

 

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

 Workload Management- You will be able to work off your own initiative with the ability to manage your own workload.

Decision Making- You will have good decision-making skills and the ability to analyse and resolve sensitive issues with the best possible outcome.

Customer Service- You will have a passion of serving the public and working with a diverse group of people and have a warm and approachable demeanour.

Attention to detail- You will have the ability to complete work accurately, paying close attention to detail to ensure work is of a high standard.
