Centre Manager (Hampton & Whitton), Full-Time

PO1: Starting salary is £31,869 per annum

  • Then we need you to join the team and oversee the management of both Hampton and Whitton Sports & Fitness Centres.

Where you’ll be working
This role will involve management duties across 2 of the Borough's Sport & Fitness Centres in Whitton TW2 6JW and Hampton TW12 3HB. You’ll be expected to travel around the Borough as required and have the potential to work from any facility under the management of the service.

Facilities at Whitton Sports & Fitness Centre include a floodlit multi-use games area, floodlit 3G astro turf pitch, sports hall, studio and fitness suite.

Facilities at Hampton Sports & Fitness Centre include a floodlit 3G pitch, fitness suite, sports hall, 5-a-side pitch, multi-use games area, theatre and studios.

Both centres are open to the public weekdays from 5pm to 10pm and weekends from 9am to 6pm.

You’ll be working 36 hours per week on a rota and this will include a mix of daytime, evening and weekends shifts.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll manage 2 of the Borough’s dual-use Sport & Fitness Centres and work with internal and external partners to continually improve the facilities and services at these centres.

With direct supervision of 6 permanent staff members, (and 10 casual staff members) you’ll be developing your staff through 1-2-1s, appraisals and team meetings.

Your workload will cover programming, finance, health & safety, marketing, quality assurance, facility development and staff management.

You’ll also be expected to step in and act as Duty Manager when required, getting involved in the day to day operations.

What we’ll need from you
Good communication and organisational skills are essential for this role.

You must hold a sport/recreation or management qualification in order to apply for this role and be First Aid qualified.

We’re looking for someone with significant previous experience of working within a leisure/fitness environment.

You’ll also need working knowledge of the operational management of a sports and fitness centre, Health & Safety procedures, and an understanding of Diversity and Equality in employment and provision of service.
