- Then we need you to lead the team at Pools on the Park in Richmond.
Where you’ll be working
You’ll join the team at Pools on the Park, Old Deer Park, Twickenham Road, Richmond TW9 2SF. Facilities here include indoor main and teaching pools, heated outdoor pool and grounds, fitness suite, health suite, café and two studio spaces. The centre is open to the public 7 days a week from 6.30am to 10pm.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead the team and oversee the day to day operation of the Centre, so that it runs smoothly.
With direct supervision of up to 8 staff (and overall responsibility for a centre employing 60+ staff), you’ll be developing staff through 1-2-1, appraisals and team meetings.
Managing the financial performance of the centre, programming and marketing, developing IT systems, facilities management and health & safety will all be your responsibility.
You’ll also get “hands on” and be involved in the day to day plant operation, including topping up etc. with chemicals, backwashing and other associated duties, including water tests.
You’ll lead the team to ensure that customers are kept in a safe and secure environment, staff deliver great customer service and make sure all facilities are clean, safe and staffed, so that every customer has a great experience.

What we’ll need from you
Good communication and organisational skills are essential for this role.
You’ll need to have the following qualifications to be considered for this role:
- Sports/recreation or management qualification.
- National Pool Lifeguard qualification.
- First Aid qualification.
- Pool Plant Operators qualification.
- Health & Safety Level 2 or higher qualification.
We’re looking for someone with significant experience in both a wet and dry leisure/sports facility, including facility and staff management. You’ll also need good knowledge of Health & Safety issues and an understanding of Diversity and Equality in employment and provision of service.
You’ll be working 36 hours per week on a shift rota. Shifts will include a mixture of early mornings, evenings and weekends.

Starting salary is subject to qualifications and experience.
