Class Teacher - St. Mary’s Church of England Primary School

About Us

Required from January 2025


We are looking to appoint an effective and dedicated teacher with the suitable experience to lead a KS1 class from January 2025 onwards or as soon as possible. We welcome applications from ECTs and experienced teachers.


St Mary’s CE Primary School is a successful and inclusive Church of England Primary School serving the local community – currently graded good by Ofsted and outstanding by SIAMS. 


You would be joining a friendly and hard-working staff team, working in partnership with our supportive families and committed Governing Body to provide our enthusiastic and well behaved children with high quality learning opportunities.


We are looking for a primary practitioner who:


    Is a consistently effective teacher

    Has a passion for and a proven track record and commitment to raising standards

    Is enthusiastic and keen to progress professionally

    Is committed to school improvement

    Is creative and innovative

    Is able to motivate and inspire colleagues

    Conveys a positive ‘can-do’ attitude!

Completed applications should be returned to Mrs Sue Abraham, School Business Manager by email: sbm@st-marys-putney.wandsworth.sch.uk with a hard copy sent by post. A letter of application should be addressed to Miss Cheryl Payne, Head Teacher, at the school address below.  


All applicants will be required to complete the Southwark Diocesan Board of Education’s application form containing questions about their employment history and their suitability for the role. 


Names and addresses of two referees should also be supplied.
