About Us

We are looking for an experienced finance minded person to support a busy Finance Team in the Adult Social Care and Public Health Directorate working across the boroughs of Richmond and Wandsworth

The opportunity that has arisen is in the Client Affairs part of the Finance Team and is for a Client Affairs Officer. Depending on experience, the role starts at grade S5 with the potential to progress to SO2 level

The Team manages the finances for people that do not have the mental capacity to do so themselves and have no friends or family that can assist. The Team is currently reviewing its processes, setting up standing orders and pre-paid cards for clients as well as undertaking a self-audit to ensure that clients are receiving the correct income. You may be asked to assist with projects, and you will provide cover as requested for the other team members.

In the Client Affairs Team, the workload is high and demanding. The role is varied and sometimes complex due to legal responsibilities. As a Client Affairs Officer, you will be allocated your own clients and administer their finances. This will include benefit and pension applications, payment of bills and expenses and deputyship applications. The Court of Protection work is in depth and complex. Procedures must be adhered to for any application to be lawful.

You will be dealing with our Social Workers, Care Providers, the Court of Protection and the Department of Works and Pensions to name a few, ensuring that the client’s finances are safeguarded, administered appropriately and in the clients’ best interest.

The role is varied, sometimes involving complex and challenging cases but equally rewarding.

About you

The Team has been through a period of reviewing and aligning processes and procedures across both boroughs. We are now into the next phase off embedding the changes to promote best practice to give our residents the highest standard of service.

Apart from being self motivated and confident, you will have a proven ‘can do’ attitude, be customer focused with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You must also be flexible and professional and remain calm under pressure.

Experience in a finance role and delivering accurate work to agreed timescales is essential as well as keeping files and information up to date

Knowledge of MS Office, Mosaic Care system and previous experience in Client Affairs would be desirable.

We are currently working flexible, splitting our time in the office and working from home
