Commissioning Officer – Service Development
Richmond and Wandsworth Councils have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Commissioning Officer to join the Commissioning Team in the Adult Social Services Directorate. This permanent position is well suited to an individual who is interested in working in and shaping the adult social care agenda at a local level.
At the heart of our work is promoting independence, choice, health and wellbeing of the local populations through strengths based approaches. We work with all vulnerable adults including older people, those with a learning disability, mental health issues, autism, physical and sensory disabilities, and carers.
In this role you will support development and delivery of commissioning activity within the Adult Social Care Commissioning Unit, ensuring services commissioned are needs led, represent value for money, and to work in partnership with other agencies to maximise good outcomes for adults with support needs through effective commissioning.
You will be a flexible thinker, enjoy new challenges, have good analytical and communication skills, be equally able to work individually and as part of a team. You will be able to gather, analyse and present complex data and information from a range of sources to a varied audience. You will have an ability to prioritise your own work, taking into account both team and organisational requirements and be able to negotiate and resolve complex problems. In addition the ability to manage change well is a necessity.
The post holder will be required to work on a variety of projects across portfolios, supporting Commissioning Managers across the team on projects that reflect departmental priorities.
