Commissioning Officer (Service Development)
Richmond and Wandsworth Councils have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Commissioning Officer to join the Commissioning Team in the Adult Social Services Directorate on an internal 6 month secondment basis or external on a fixed term contract.
At the heart of our work is promoting independence, choice, health and wellbeing of the local populations through strengths based approaches. We work with all vulnerable adults including older people, those with a learning disability, mental health issues, autism, physical and sensory disabilities, and carers.
In this role you will:
- Support development and delivery of commissioning activity within the Adult Social Care Commissioning Unit.
- Ensure services commissioned are needs led and represent value for money.
- Work in partnership with other agencies to maximise good outcomes for adults with support needs through effective commissioning.
- Required to work on a variety of projects across portfolios, supporting Commissioning Managers across the team on projects that reflect departmental priorities.
The Commissioning Team is an extremely supportive, collaborative team where effective communication is essential, commitment to providing a quality service is expected and new ideas for improvements are welcomed.
You will be a flexible thinker, enjoy new challenges, have good analytical and communication skills, be equally able to work individually and as part of a team. You will be able to gather, analyse and present complex data and information from a range of sources to a varied audience. You will have an ability to prioritise your own work, taking into account both team and organisational requirements and be able to negotiate and resolve complex problems. In addition the ability to manage change well is a necessity.
