Consultation Officer

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

The Role

The London Boroughs of Richmond and Wandsworth are looking for a part-time Consultation Officer to help us ensure that our residents, businesses and service-users can have their say on issues which affect them.

The Consultation Team works across the two Councils, carrying out public surveys and consultations, analysing the results and using the data to provide insight to officers and councillors and to feed back to the public. This work is vital to help the Council understand what is most important to our communities and make decisions about how we can provide the best possible services for them.

We are looking for someone with extensive data analysis experience and a high level of attention to detail. You’ll need to be customer-focused with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to work well under pressure, prioritise a varied workload, and operate effectively as part of a team are also essential skills for this role.

The role comprises the following main elements:

  • Analysing consultation data and writing reports for internal and public use
  • Using the Council’s consultation software to build and manage consultation activity across both Councils
  • Making use of technology such as mapping tools, embedded media and analytics to ensure we are creating engaging consultations and using the results to inform decision-making
  • Providing advice and guidance to colleagues at all levels on consultation and engagement

Experience in a consultation, social research or analyst role is essential for this role, as is the ability to deliver accurate work to agreed timescales. Knowledge of consultation software, data collection methods and experience with social media and analytics would also be useful.

For an informal discussion please contact Catherine Pierce on 020 8831 6233

In return, we can offer you working arrangements that will enhance your work-life balance. These include home working (dependent on service need), part-time working and a generous holiday allowance of 31 days plus bank holidays.

In addition, we offer a range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at many leisure activities, restaurants, shops and other establishments. A wide range of developmental opportunities is also offered.
