The role of Contract Manager (Waste and Street Cleansing) will require you working on implementing ambition plans to provide services for residents in both boroughs using a single staff team, one of the largest in local government today delivering services for over half a million Londoners. We have created a unique organisation that focuses on new ways of working within a positive and supportive culture.
As part of the Environment and Community Services Directorate senior team of managers you will enable the organisation to build on our successes and bring new experiences, knowledge and ideas into the role. Your style and approach throughout should reflect our values of being open, supportive, positive and helpful.
You will need to bring your experiences and knowledge to manage and effectively monitor contracts that deliver services to all households and highways in the boroughs. You will have proven contract monitoring skills and experience of dealing with contractors on an annual basis and procuring related services. You will manage, lead, motivate and support your team undertaking a range of duties to provide excellent service delivery. You will also be responsible for budget management and monitoring and Audit requirements associated with all aspects of the service delivery. You must demonstrate strong financial stewardship and reporting.
The service is public facing and hence excellent communication skills are required and experience of dealing direct with residents, council members, external and local bodies and politicians.
You will be welcomed into a service area which delivers a range of contracts and your personal development will be encouraged. Work Life balance and wellbeing are promoted so we can offer you arrangements that will enhance this, including generous holiday allowance of 31 days plus bank holidays and a range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at many leisure activities sites, restaurants, shops and other establishments.
