Control Officer / Responder
Our Control Room are currently looking for a self-motivated Emergency Control / Response Officer, committed to excellence in customer care. This role involves the provision of a customer focused, 24 hour service, 365 days a year. The successful person will be required to provide reassurance and emergency assistance to our service users living in sheltered housing and service users living in their own homes connected to the dispersed alarm system known as Wandsworth Alarm Telephone Care helpline (WATCH) and Telecare service users.
You will work as part of a team in a 24 hour emergency control room covering the boroughs Richmond and Wandsworth. You will be responsible for receiving and processing calls from the public, contractors ,other professionals partners and agencies. You will monitor a two way radio system and cctv.
You will need to demonstrate a good understanding of the principles of providing excellent customer care. Utilising your strong communication skills, you will be part of a team working a 24 hour shift pattern including night shifts on a 15 week Rota. You will receive a shift and weekend allowance.
This is a demanding job which requires a high level of sensitivity, and a good knowledge of services available to meet the needs of our customers which comprise of: older, younger disabled people and people living with impairment and health needs. An ability to remain calm in stressful situations and instill confidence to service users is required. Good report writing, administration skills and an understanding of computers are essential.
You should have a good understanding and enthusiasm for Community Alarm and Telecare provision
You must possess a full clean driving Licence
