Cost of Living Programme Manager

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

The Role

In light of the seriousness of the cost of living crisis facing households through this winter and beyond, Richmond and Wandsworth Councils are establishing a programme of support to help their most vulnerable residents and businesses.  If you are an experienced manager who has a proven track record of delivering complex programmes or projects and you have a good understanding of local government services, then we want to hear from you.

Operating at the heart of the Resource’s Team, you will lead on delivering the council’s cost of living programme, ensuring that the programme is reinforced through robust programme and project governance, providing crucial oversight and support in delivery of the key workstreams.

You will provide advice and guidance to senior officers, identifying opportunities for improved collaboration across council teams, the voluntary sector and key stakeholders. Stakeholders will include relevant elected members, Chief Officers and voluntary sector organisations working in partnership with the Councils to deliver cost of living support to residents and businesses.

As part of the reporting framework, you will be responsible for monitoring, quantifying and reporting on the impact of the programme.

To be successful takes tenacity; someone who is a “can-do” problem solver, skilled at juggling competing demands.  You will need to be able to question and challenge conventional thinking, with a continual eye on the bigger picture in terms of corporate context and external environment.

This is a 2 year fixed term position where there will be opportunities to be involved in other high profile programmes and projects across the Councils.

If you want to find out more about this exciting opportunity, please contact Jon Evans, Assistant Chief Executive (Policy and Performance) on Jon.Evans@richmondandwandsworth.gov.uk
