The Role

The London Boroughs of Richmond upon Thames and Wandsworth have been operating a ground-breaking Shared Staffing Arrangement since 2016 – a 4,000-strong workforce serving both local authorities.  We offer the unique opportunity to be part of one of the largest most innovative local government organisations in London where both Councils are committed to sharing key business processes and systems; and maintaining quality value-for-money services whilst retaining individual Council sovereignty and the ability to deliver tailored local solutions where appropriate.

The Data, Analytics service is the Council’s centre for all things data. The councils’ ambitions are to lead the way in London in transforming the way we use data.

A new position exists within the data support team to help maintain existing databases and support the new data science team. As well as carrying out DBA tasks candidates will be expected to have a good working knowledge of the ETL process and data science in general as well as

  • Experience and knowledge of cloud infrastructure designs and solution development.
  • Proven ability with data solution design; translating data into business needs into effective integration solutions.
  • Experience of using Azure, Data Factory, Synapse and matching solutions is desirable.
  • Data cleansing experience
  • Knowledge of SQL and Database Maintenance

You should be forward thinking and have the ability to work across departments, with the view of embedding data into every part of our culture.

If you are a DBA with an interest in data science and are looking to grow quickly in a forward-thinking organisation, we would love to hear from you.
