Deputy Head of Maths - Ernest Bevin College

The Role

Required: September 2022

Ernest Bevin College, whose students are aged between 11-19, is a vibrant and a truly inclusive all boys college with a mixed sixth form.  Based in Tooting, South West London, our college takes pride in having an exceptional level of pastoral care where all staff are dedicated to giving each and every student both a quality learning experience and the life skills that opens doors to any career path they wish to tread in the future.

Mathematics is a successful and hugely popular department at the college, and we offer A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. Many students go on to study maths or maths related degrees at university.

Our students, staff and governors are now seeking an energetic and creative Deputy Head of Maths to join our highly skilled Maths department.

The successful candidate will need to be:

  • A committed team player.
  • Have experience managing an area and/or team.
  • Keen to contribute to the college’s drive to improve standards of mathematics across the whole college.

Responsibilities includes:

  • Providing professional leadership within the maths faculty.
  • Deputising for the Head of Department when required.
  • Contributing to setting a vision for the faculty and to help lead, inspire and support
  • Help to achieve high-quality teaching, effective use of resources and excellent learning and progress for all students.
  • Helping to raise standards of student achievement in an agreed key stage in maths.
