About the School:

WHHTS provides education and outreach services for a diverse range of students aged 5-18 who are experiencing a severe or chronic illness and/or have mental health issues.

WHHTS encompasses: St. George’s Hospital School, CAMHS CAMPUS School at Springfield University Hospital (Eating Disorders Ward, Acute Psychiatric Ward and National Inpatient Deaf CAMHS Unit) and Community Education Programmes (including therapeutic education, tuition and reintegration) and Mental Health Outreach. The role will be based predominantly at our Springfield Hospital situated a short walking distance from Tooting Broadway Underground station, with excellent transport links. However, as with all our staff, the role incorporates time and leadership over St George’s Hospital.

Our students have the opportunity to make accelerated progress through personalised learning programmes delivered in small groups or in one-to-one tuition. Staff and students build positive nurturing relationships, which enable students to grow in confidence, self-acceptance and compassion for themselves and others.

The staff at WHHTS are conscientious, driven and open to new ideas and practices which can benefit our students. The organisation prioritises the wellbeing and work life balance of all its staff members. We understand that happy staff ensure happy students, and in a context such as Hospital education, wellbeing is fundamental to the success of the service.

The school was graded 'Outstanding' once again in the 2018/2019 inspection and is a UNICEF Rights Respecting School with a strong focus on excellence and wellbeing for students and staff.

Covid secure visits to the school are welcomed and recommended where possible. These can take place on request over 20th and 21st April. Please contact the school to book a visit.
