Development Project Manager

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

The Role

We have a fabulous opportunity to join our expanding Housing Development team delivering a pipeline of 1,000+ homes for Wandsworth people.

Reporting to our Head of Housing Development Joe Richardson, you will get stuck in to projects from their earliest feasibility stage, overseeing the entire planning and delivery process until handover.

You’ll have a background in a relevant planning or construction field – applying your experience to ensure we deliver quality new homes and first-class service to our customers.  Your duties will be broad and varied – from resident consultation events as part of the planning process, to commissioning technical site investigations and overseeing works programmes until completion. Your prior experience might be limited to sections of the Development process – which won’t be a problem as we’ll put in a comprehensive training programme to bridge any gaps.

You will have a proactive approach and willingness to build effective relationships with customers, other departmental teams and key stakeholders across the organisation.  The environment is fast-paced, with tight deadlines therefore you will need to be a good communicator, well organised, have excellent written, numerical and analytical skills and sound IT abilities.

In return, we can offer you working arrangements that will enhance your work-life balance. These include home working (dependant on service needs) and in line with COVID 19 guidelines and a generous holiday allowance of 31 days plus bank holidays.

In addition, we offer a range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at many leisure activities, restaurants, shops and other establishments. A wide range of developmental opportunities is also offered.
