Document Management Officer

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a professional Document Management Service who are responsible for ensuring all documents received electronically or by hardcopy are securely handled.  The original documents must be returned once processed in accordance with the principle of the Data Protection Act; Freedom of Information Act and other legislative requirement.  The scanned documents are fast tracked through the Councils Document Management Workflow system to the appropriate service.  Hardcopy data must be securely kept and destroyed in accordance with data destruction procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a proven record of commitment to customer care and be able to work with minimum supervision to demanding deadlines and targets.   You will play a vital role in ensuring that the department meets or exceeds customer expectations.

You will need to be hard-working, self-motivated, have excellent communication skills, able to work under own initiative, can demonstrate an understanding of the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act and their application within a Document Management environment.

You will have strong IT skills, managing the use of bespoke document management software, recent experience of using CIVICA W2 or other document management software and Microsoft applications.

You will be required to have experience of a creative approach to problem solving and a keen attention to detail and accuracy.  You are expected to have excellent time management and planning skills together with a proven

track record of processing high volumes of work accurately to challenging deadlines.

You will have exceptional team working and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a track record of collaborative working with team members to meet team objectives and goals.

This position requires you to work in either borough on occasions as and when the work requires it.
