Energy and Sustainability Officer - Schools

About Us
This role will play a critical part of delivery of the Councils’ climate change targets. You will assist with the delivery of actions and objectives set out in the Richmond Climate Emergency Strategy and the Wandsworth Environment Strategy to support the creation and promotion of sustainability activities and tools aimed at transforming operations within the Councils and schools to achieve real sustainability change.
We are looking for someone who can work in our team to lead on environment and climate change projects but who can also contribute to wider climate work in the organisation. This is a great opportunity to see the breadth of work happening across Richmond and Wandsworth Council on climate, net zero and environment policies.
In order to apply, you will need to have:
- Working knowledge of Climate change policy, legislative drivers, technology and net zero with sound understanding the importance of evidence-based decisions and/or systems approach.
- You will need to have the ability to form and maintain relationships across the councils to facilitate delivery of our Climate and environment priorities and will need to manage priorities and ensure that multiple workstreams have the support they require.
- Possess an environmental degree / diploma or working toward completion in a relevant environmental subject i.e., Sustainability / Environmental Management. Electrical installation/ Buildings Services City and Guilds Qualification
