As a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting social workers, practitioners, and managers in developing ethical and relational safeguarding approaches that enable children to thrive. 

Your systemic interventions will facilitate children and families to experience safe, stable, and loving relationships. Driving the integration of systemic practice through supervision, training, and consultation, you will cultivate and strengthen communities of systemic practice around children and families. 

About the role

You will champion anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices, ensuring services are equitable and transformative for children and families of diverse backgrounds. Your practice will reflect values of safety, activism, compassion, curiosity, and reflexivity.

You will implement systemic interventions to foster protective and loving relationships for children and families. Additionally, you will embed systemic practice through supervision, training, consultation, and innovation projects. 

This is a dynamic role providing you opportunities to develop and grow as a practitioner and practice leader within Children Services. 

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Hold a Master’s (or equivalent) in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy, accredited by the UK Council for Psychotherapy.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in formulating therapeutic needs and implementing systemic interventions to safeguard children and strengthen family relationships.
  • Provide effective consultation, supervision, and training to embed systemic practice across Children Services and Early Help.
  • Ability to embody and model anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices, bringing your values to life in the service of children and families.
