Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

The Role

The role of Head of Policy, Performance and Analysis will see you working at the corporate centre of our ground-breaking shared staffing organisation that serves two sovereign and high performing London boroughs. We are a single talented staff team – one of the biggest in local government today - that is delivering for over half a million Londoners.

We are seeking an talented and experienced policy professional who can deliver insight and policy analysis of the highest quality to senior managers, leading members. Our elected members are rightly ambitious for their residents – they want us to be ahead of the curve, and at the forefront of delivery and innovation in local government to ensure we can continue to deliver high quality services.  This role is crucial to helping us deliver on this ambition.

Working directly to the Assistant Chief Executive (Policy and Performance), and very closely with the Chief Executive, you will be operating right at the heart of our organisation. You will lead three talented joint teams that are responsible for performance management, corporate planning, business intelligence, policy analysis and service review for two councils. You will also be Council’s lead advisor on service equalities.

You will bring with you a proven track record in local government in assembling complex evidence information to provide challenge and insight in areas where you may not always be the expert!  This may have been gained with a service setting or in the corporate centre.  You should be an excellent leader who can get the most out of your staff, a self-starter who scans every opportunity to do things better and more efficiently and follows through on your hunches.

We will expect you to build on your established networks and be comfortable in nurturing new and productive relationships with colleagues across our organisation. You will also work closely with high high profile elected members from two Councils, so tact, diplomacy and acute political awareness will be critical to your success.

This a rare opportunity to develop your career in one of the most exciting organisations within local government today.
