Head of Communities and Strategic Partnerships
The Role
This exciting new post will lead the councils’ corporate approach to developing stronger and effective partnerships with the communities, voluntary sector, and strategic partners in both Richmond and Wandsworth.
The successful candidate will:
- Manage a team that delivers community outreach, engagement, and voluntary sector grant management (including NCIL).
- Have a strong focus on problem solving, convening the right people from across organisations and the community to delivering community solutions and building resilience in the sector.
- Ensure that each council has strong and collaborative strategic partnership and stakeholder management arrangements that are focussed on improving outcomes for residents in the borough and align around mutually agreed borough and community objectives.
You will need to bring a strong working knowledge of the issues faced by the VCS and experience of developing and nurturing strategic partnerships. This experience could come from within a Council, statutory service or from within a voluntary or community group.
You will also bring direct or transferrable skills which will allow you to lead complex projects through the Council’s governance systems.
Strong leadership skills and a confident communicator are essential supported by experience of co-production, project and financial management.
You will need to be flexible in how you work, have good analytical skills and be a strong report writer.
