We wish to appoint a dynamic and innovative teacher to lead the department within a popular and over-subscribed multi-ethnic school firmly committed to language learning. French and Spanish are taught throughout Key Stage 3 -5, and German is offered as an additional language. Most students study a foreign language up to GCSE. All languages are successful at GCSE and popular ‘A’ level subjects. We employ language assistants, have dedicated classrooms, and a computer suite.


The successful applicant will be an outstanding language teacher and be able to teach 2 languages. They will have a proven track record of providing high quality teaching and learning to pupils across all Key Stages, and a deep understanding of progression in language learning at all levels and for all abilities.  They will be able to lead by example, inspire both staff and students, have excellent interpersonal skills, and thrive working in a large, busy and successful department.

The selection process will comprise a lesson observation and panel interview.
