Head of Inclusion - Linden Lodge School

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

The Role

Required: September 2019

Linden Lodge School is a leading provider of education for visually-impaired children and young people aged 2 – 19 years. We are constantly building and growing our provision and an opportunity to join our skilled and highly motivated team as a Head of Inclusion has become available. This may be of particular interest to a peripatetic QTVI or Secondary SENDCO looking to develop their career or an experienced SEND teacher looking for a leadership role.

This is an exciting time to join the school. In our recent OFSTED of the residential department, Leadership and Management was judged “outstanding” (January 2019) where “leaders’ expert knowledge and steadfast commitment to children have inspired them to continue their own professional journeys”. We have an impressive three acre campus in Wimbledon offering fabulous indoor and outdoor innovative facilities to support teaching and learning.

The Head of Inclusion will set the vision for our most able students and develop links with our partner school and other mainstream provisions to provide a rich and varied curriculum. As an inclusive school, we are committed to ensuring that every child reaches their potential through a personalised approach. The successful candidate will also have a teaching role linked to either STEM or English.

Ideally, the candidate will be a qualified teacher of the visually-impaired although mandatory training will be offered to candidates where required.

We can offer you:

• Small classes with high staff ratio.
• The opportunity to train as a qualified teacher of the visually impaired
• Middle management training and coaching
• A staff wellbeing programme which includes:
o Employee Assistance programme
o Free local gym membership
o End of term staff awards
o Weekly art and Pilates classes

Linden Lodge School is a very special place to work and staff wellbeing and career progression is very important to us. In addition to our Staff wellbeing programme you will be provided with tailored in-house and external training appropriate to your needs and interests.
