We are looking to fill this critical senior leadership position to shape and implement corporate and large-scale cultural change to continuously improve organisational performance, efficiency and effectiveness. You will lead a team of professionals who provide OD, learning and development, talent management, staff engagement, equality, diversity and inclusion, and internal communications services across both Richmond and Wandsworth Councils.

As the Head of OD and IC, you will adopt a partnering approach with Directors, managers, and staff to identify and deliver activities that support the organisation to achieve its goals, pulling on all levers to make change happen effectively. You will lead, and project manage specific OD projects and initiatives, such as developing workforce strategies, creating a talent pipeline, embedding organisational values and behaviours, and developing effective internal communications and staff engagement tools and strategies.

You will need to have proven strategic HR and/or OD leadership experience within a large, complex and multi-disciplinary environment. You will also need to have a track record of successfully leading and implementing cultural change programmes encompassing a range of delivery elements that have positively impacted on organisational effectiveness, operations, and the mood within a workforce. You will have excellent communication and influencing skills, and the ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity. You will also have a commitment to our values and behaviours, and an understanding of the current context and challenges within local government.
