Job Title: Head of Regeneration (Winstanley and York Road)
Salary Range: £85,000 to £116,847 per annum
Permanent – Fulltime (36 hours)
Location- Wandsworth Town Hall, London

Wandsworth council is pioneering a place-based approach to renewal that recognises the unique character of its diverse neighbourhoods while delivering coordinated change at scale. You will be responsible for a key workstream in this approach – leading delivery of the Winstanley Neighbourhood Regeneration. You will bring your breadth of experience to deliver c.2,500 new homes, leisure and community facilities – regenerating a neighbourhood adjacent to one of the busiest railway stations in Europe.
About the role
Housing Development & Place: you will provide strategic leadership for the Winstanley Neighbourhood Regeneration, engaging with the local community and a wide range of stakeholders, to deliver genuine Place-based regeneration – bringing together and adding value across multiple Council activities.
Team collaboration: you will proactively work with colleagues across the council’s Housing Development and Regeneration Team, Housing, Finance, Enabling and others - developing new homes in accordance with the Council’s consistent high standards, making brilliant places to live. As Head of service for such a high-profile project, experience of Member liaison built on strong communication skills are vital to its success.
Programme management: through effective management of staff, consultants and contracting teams, you will report on key information such as timescales, outcomes, budgets and risks. You will ensure this information is collated and reported through the Council’s governance process in a clear, timely manner.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Track record of delivery: demonstrable experience leading complex development projects across various procurement and delivery models.
- Programme management & organisational skills: Excellent organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with officers and stakeholders.
- Stakeholder management: Experience in managing relationships with various stakeholders, including community leaders and external partners.
