Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Beatrix Potter Primary School

Contract type: Term time only (39 weeks a year)

Are you confident with a class, proactive, good at taking the initiative, well organised, kind and creative with a keen interest in developing children’s thinking and learning skills?

We are seeking to appoint a HLTA who will join our new team of HLTAs at school providing cover for teachers as needed and supporting with SEND and attendance.  

You will have a calm, patient disposition and will be able to respond positively to the challenges of working with children.  You will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to helping children achieve their potential in an engaging and creative environment. You will enjoy the responsibility of leading a class and your behaviour management will be strong and positive. You will be flexible and able to work with teachers’ plans, adapting them to deliver effectively in the classroom.

Ideally you will have experience of working with children, either as a teaching assistant or perhaps as an unqualified teacher. You may be looking to going into teaching yourself.
