IT Application Specialists - Housing and Finance, Environment, Social Care, Workflow

The Role

Do you want to be part of our IT digital transformation journey? We are looking for a number of Application Support Specialists where you will have opportunity to influence and shape our IT service offerings to the business and our local communities. 

We are looking for a number of highly motivated and enthusiastic people to join our friendly and supportive team of Application Specialists.

The Application Support team is based in Corporate IT (CIT) and we maintain, support and develop many of the key IT systems used across Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. Application specialists are essential in maintaining these systems so we can deliver the highest quality services to our residents and staff.

There are four Application Specialist roles available, the four roles will each be supporting one of the areas below. Please let us know in your application process which role you would like to apply for:

Environment (Taranto, Imperial, Confirm, Caps-Uniform, Gladstone): You will have the skills to both maintain and support enterprise IT systems. Working in the Environment Team you will need to have a proven background in supporting, administering, and developing systems from the following applications (or similar): Taranto, Imperial, Confirm, Caps-Uniform, Gladstone.

Housing and Finance (NEC (Northgate) Revs and Bens, NEC Housing, QMatic, Pay360, Contender): You will have the skills to both maintain and support enterprise IT systems. Working in the Housing and Finance Team you will need to have a proven background in supporting, administering, and developing systems from the following (or similar) applications: NEC (Northgate) Revs and Bens, NEC Housing, QMatic, Pay360, Contender.

Productivity (Workflow360 (W2), Netcall, M365 (in particular SharePoint, Teams): You will have the skills to both maintain and support enterprise IT systems. Working in the Workflow Team you will need to have a proven background in supporting, administering, and developing systems from the following (or similar) applications: Workflow360 (W2), Netcall, M365 (in particular SharePoint, Teams).

Social Care (Mosaic): You will have the skills to both maintain and support enterprise IT systems. Working in the Social Care Team you will need to have a proven background in supporting, administering Mosaic. This is the councils key social care system.

You will have a good working knowledge of SQL (SQL Server preferably) and reporting packages (for example: PowerBI, SSRS) and the ability to interpret and manipulate data.

A knowledge of the frameworks that underpin local government would be a distinct advantage.     

Some of the main responsibilities of the Application Specialist include:

  • To provide specialist expertise and support for second line user application-related issues.
  • Work with other teams in CIT as necessary to ensure appropriate technical input / advice to the development and support of the designated application.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of prioritised application development work plans – from significant IT projects to regular maintenance activities
  • Work closely with expert users and other subject matter experts within business areas to develop and document current and future business processes.
  • Participate in projects for the implementation or enhancement of applications, offering advice and guidance on the production of requirement specifications.
